Piston and pin are supplied to market after careful testing and checking. Each piston is provided
with its pin. They are lubricated with protective oil and then packed. Our company has seen no
necessity to manufacture pistons and pins in different colouring. It is recommended to equip
each piston with its own pin and cylinder that are packed in same box. Fitting of pistons must
be done according to signs and directions which are on top of the piston.
According to the features of material and tolerance standards, pins are produced and assembled
to the pistons. Tolerances can differ for each type of piston which also• depends on experiences.
The performance of the engine is directly influenced by how pin is assembled on the piston and
connecting rod. The regulation with shrink fit has changed to lighter pin fit and general view
using this way. If the pin is manufactured with oversize dimension, pin hole must be warmed
up before fitting. Never fit and replace the pin by using force. The shrink fit must be done by
using suitable tools and equipments. The circlips are also assembled to the piston, as a result
it is introduced in this way of packing.
Rings must be installed with great care. Opening the rings more than necessary midht cause
permanent deformation which will also influence the performance of the engine. Rings must be
installed according to their number and in suitable angles.
Pistons that are manufactured MOGESAN factory are ready to install into suitable liners and
connecting rod without needing extra functions. All external matters, dust, foreign substances
must be cleaned from honed cylinder, block, crankshaft and cylinder head before fitting. Oiling
matters can be dried because of long time period. In this case the piston and pin must be
recleaned and oiled. To berakin piston should run the engine with %70-80 power and revolution.
Oil and oil filter must be changed in proper time and according to intervals.
INSTALLATION PROCESS OF CYLINDER LINERS
The are two types of cylinder liners which are produced :
* Dry Liners * Wet Liners
Installation of wet cylinder liners :
The bores and in particular the seats in the cylinder bloks must be carefully cleaned. Insert
the cylinder liners before final installation without sealing rings. Control and chech the movement
and correct seating. For final installation use soap on the sealing rings to slide in the cylinder
liner easy into the engine block. Aft er fitting the liner with the appropriate sealing rings check
the cylinder diameter and the collar.
Installation of dry (semi) cylinder liners :
Before the liner i•s installed into the cylinder liner block must be carrefully cleaned and checked
for for dimensional accarycy and distortion. The cylinder liner must be pressed with power
between 3000 kg and 5000 kg into the block. It is important that the bore is circular and
cylindrical. And it must be rehonned without any movement from the axis.
